Netflix’s ‘Love is Blind’ had quite the season for its fourth American installment. There was drama and love triangles but the most prevalent event that took place was its end-of-season reunion. Fans were not pleased with the failed live broadcast. Several factors contributed to the reunion hiccup but one main issue was the hosts.

Vanessa and Nick Lachey have been the hosts since the show’s inception. Now, fans are saying enough is enough. Critics say the husband-and-wife team have no on-screen chemistry and ask cast members biased questions. Overall, fans believe the pair is not right for the job. After the reunion fiasco in April, Twitter did what Twitter does best. Users created a petition asking that Nick and Vanessa Lachey be removed from the show.

The petition, signed by over 40,000 people, lays out reasons why the two should be fired.

“For a show that is attempting to be reality TV, Vanessa and Nick make it feel fake, cringy, and poorly produced.,” the petition read.

All of the commotion may have gotten the attention of the producers at Netflix. There is a possibility that the Lacheys are getting replaced by an OG couple that Black Twitter has stanned since Season 1.

Netflix Moving Forward

Once the petition to remove the Lacheys made its rounds, petition creator, Libby Cross, created another petition to send to Netflix. It requested that season one couple, Lauren and Cameron Speed-Hamilton, host the show. The beloved couple’s inspiring love story captivated audiences worldwide on Season 1 of the show. Their connection was apparent from the start, and they overcame challenges after the show’s end to remain devoted to each other. They are an excellent example of true love which would make them a good fit to host a show centered around romance. Plus, they have first-hand experience of the unique situation cast-members face. The petition for Lauren and Cameron to host the show currently has over 42,000 signatures.

Netflix seemingly has heard viewer’s cries and may be doing something about it. A source who works on the Netflix show revealed to Daily Mail that this change was a long time coming.

“There’s always been whispers about replacing them, especially now after the live reunion special which was a complete disaster on so many levels… If they want to keep their ratings up, there’s got to be a change,” the source told Daily Mail.

The source added that the Speed-Hamiltons are a great choice for the streamer.

“Viewers feel a connection with Lauren and Cameron because they are the real deal,” the source said.
