Divorce. The dreadful word that no one in any marriage ever wants to hear. But sadly, we must all face that it’s an unfortunate, and very possible, part of reality.

When we embark on new romantic relationships, especially commitments as big as marriage, we never anticipate that one day it could come to an end. Usually, we’re basking in the good aspects of the relationship, and putting all of our energy into making it last. But sometimes life happens. People change, people grow – sometimes in different directions, and the romance can even become stale. It’s never a reality that anyone wants to face, but perhaps what makes that bitter realization ten times worse is when you have the entire world watching.

Zoë Kravitz, Meagan Good and Chanel Iman were the latest subjects of the topic when information about each of their finalized or upcoming divorces became public. Kravitz split from “her husband of eighteen months and partner of five years” Karl Glusman, Good announced her divorce from husband DeVon Franklin after nine years of marriage, and Iman split from her husband of three years, Sterling Sheperd.

Outside of their divorce, one thing that all these ladies have in common is their positive attitude to push forward. They are prime examples that there is life after divorce – and here’s how they’re each proving it.

Zoë Kravitz

Zoë Kravitz hasn’t let divorce get to her one bit – and you can definitely tell by this stunning photograph. In a recent interview with PEOPLE, she revealed that her divorce was less about her husband and more about learning who she is as a person. In another interview with ANOTHER Magazine, the actress further explained that “breakups are sad, but are beautiful things too. It’s about the bittersweetness, that beginning and that end. It’s so complex, that space, when you’re in between heartbroken and mourning the loss of something and excited for what's ahead of you.”

And Kravitz has a lot to look forward to. Her latest thriller film, Kimi, is now streaming on HBO Max and she’s set to hit the screen as Catwoman in the upcoming Batman film which will premiere in theaters on March 4th.

Meagan Good

When Meagan Good and ex-husband DeVon Franklin both took to Instagram to share the news of their divorce on Dec. 21, 2021, they shocked the entire world. And when Good opened up about it further in a Twitter Spaces chat with XONecole, the actress gut-wrenchingly revealed that she was “grieving.” She added, that it was the “most painful thing” she’s ever experienced but remains “optimistic” and “hopeful for the future.”

Before entering the New Year, on Dec 31, 2021, Good took to Instagram to share the above post with a caption that included “2022, I’m choosing to be excited about what the beginning of this next act of life brings.”

Chanel Iman

Iman hasn’t yet spoken publicly about her divorce, but in the months leading up to the revelation she's looked to be in good spirits. In information obtained by US Magazine, the ex-couple have “agreed to share joint custody” of their kids and remain amicable as their settlements unfold.

May 2022 bring an abundance of healing energy and even more positivity to each of these ladies!
