Celebrity Winner Spotlight

Pattern Beauty

Pattern Beauty’s Leave-In Conditioner is among the Best Leave-In Conditioner winners in 21Ninety’s Crowning Moments category. The company, founded by actress Tracee Ellis Ross is known for its many amazing products that are designed for textured hair. In an interview with Marie Claire, Ross said that she dreamed about starting her own brand for nearly two decades before actually taking leap to do it.

“I wrote my first brand pitch in 2008 when Girlfriends finished. It’s taken me that long because the gatekeepers and decision-makers of the beauty world did not understand the magnitude, importance, beauty, breadth, and consumer dollars of the curl community,” Ross told the outlet. “This is made from the heart of a woman who is honored to be a part of this community.”

Of course, when it comes to celebrities in the makeup space, there has to be a mention of Rihanna’s Fenty Beauty. The brand is among the Best Makeup Brand winners in the Makeup Motivation category. Rihanna has consistently shown fans throughout her career that she knows what a good beat looks like. Naturally, the superstar had to share her secrets with the rest of the world. In an interview with Time Magazine, the beauty mogul discussed where her love for makeup started.

“The first time I remember having my makeup done was for this beauty pageant that I did in school. I was 15, about to be 16, just before I got signed. I had my full face done for this pageant — my mom actually did my makeup. And ever since then, ever since I saw foundation on my skin, I could never look at my skin without foundation again. Makeup, it spoiled me,” Rihanna told the magazine.
