Chlöe Bailey’s first ever Carnival is officially in the books and the singer made sure it was definitely one to remember.

Bailey attended Carnival in St. Lucia and shared her stunning mas costume to her Instagram account. “Playing mas” is the act of participating in the masquerade or parade with a group or band. Bailey attended with Legends Carnival Band and it was a time she won’t soon forget.

“baby’s first carnival with @legendscarnival !!! had the best time of my entire life,” Bailey captioned her carousel of images showing off her Carnival attire.

St. Lucia’s Carnival was held July 17 and 18.

While the images posted to Bailey’s feed were all about the attire she wore to the event, it was her Instagram stories that really showed the experience she had. In her stories Bailey shared videos of herself dancing, drinking and having an amazing first Carnival. Bailey also shared some behind-the-scenes shots of her getting dressed in her elaborate costume. In one, a friend helps her secure the pieces she wore.

In the comments of her Instagram post, fans and fellow celebrities gushed over the singer’s stunning look.

“YOU LOOK SO AMAZING!!!!!!” Bailey’s sister, Halle wrote.

The sisters are known to be incredibly supportive of one another and this was no different. Issa Rae also weighed in.

“DIVINE! I’ve never even written that before!” Rae wrote clearly taken aback by just how great Bailey looked.

Another Instagram user simply wrote, “Oh she won.”

What is Carnival?

Carnival is a vibrant and colorful celebration that occurs in many Caribbean countries. It’s significant part of of many country’s cultural heritage. People come together and celebrate with music, dance, costumes, and good traditional cuisine. The festival usually takes place in different times throughout the summer and is celebrated in different ways throughout the Caribbean.

Bailey isn’t alone in her attendance. Celebrities often get in on the fun and play mas each year during carnival.
