It’s available exclusively at Target from now until May 18.

The Lip Bar, founded by Melissa Butler, came onto the beauty scene in 2012. The founder launched the brand to make way for an inclusive beaty line that’s also vegan and “non-toxic.”
Mielle Organics
In 2012, Monique Rodriguez created Mielle Organics. The beauty brand centers all of its products around tending to Black women’s needs through natural results-driven ingredients.
21Ninety spoke with both brand’s founders to learn more about this Women’s History Month collaboration.
21Ninety: What inspired this partnership? Who reached out first?
Monique Rodriguez: As business besties and genuine friends and supporters of one another, we joined our creative forces to create a new bright and bold lip shade. Mielle is celebrating its 10th anniversary this year, so we were inspired by the signature pink that has proudly represented Mielle for the past decade. The iconic color also represents our journey as Black women founders being unapologetically bold and limitless in our success journey.
21N: How did you land on launching The Lip Bar Nonstop Liquid Matte in Mielle Pink for this Women’s History Month campaign?
MR: For the past decade, pink has been our signature color that has proudly represented Mielle and will continue to do so in the future. The color has represented our bold business journeys. So, for this campaign, it was a no-brainer that Melissa and I created this Mielle pink lipstick shade, urging all queens to embrace their strength, individuality, and confidence during Women’s History Month and beyond.
21N: How do you hope women feel when they wear this lipstick?
Melissa Butler: Mielle Pink is an absolute showstopper, encouraging women to embrace their bold beauty unapologetically. This iconic shade is meant to make women feel their best because we know that confidence is beautiful.
21N: Can we expect more Mielle x The Lip Bar collaborative products in the future?
MR: There is always potential for another collaboration as Mielle Organics and The Lip Bar continue our sisterhood representing Black founded, women-led businesses in the beauty industry.
