Is Serena Williams really leaving tennis for good? Will she make a grand return? She may not even know. The athlete teased fans recently about the possibility of “pulling a Tom Brady.”

Tuesday night on “The Tonight Show With Jimmy Fallon, the pro athlete was asked if she plans on pulling a Tom Brady, to which she responded, “you know what, Tom Brady started an amazing trend.” The conversation was then shifted to her growth as an athlete.

If you didn’t know, “pulling a Tom Brady” refers to the NFL star announcing his retirement from football in February only to later reverse his decision. Serena’s lack of confirmation may hopefully lead to fans one day seeing her again on the courts!

In August, Serena sat down with Vogue Magazine to announce that she planned to “evolve away from tennis” after the US Open. During her interview with Fallon, she made it very clear that she does not want to call it retirement.

“I’m at an age where I feel like I have a lot more to give and there’s a lot more that i want to do,” she said. “So, I’m not gonna be relaxing. There’s so much more for me.”

After a very emotional last match against Ajla Tomljanovic, Serena thanked many of her supporters including her family and her sister, Venus. “There would be no Serena without Venus,” she cried, “Thank you so much Venus.”

She went on to say in the interview that she is grateful that she had this moment and grateful that she is Serena. We all are grateful and hopefully we might see her return back on the courts soon!
