The partnership between Urban Decay and Jade Purple Brown is more than just a fusion of art and beauty; it’s a testament to the power of representation and the beauty of diversity.

“I’m partnering with Urban Decay to create a very unique makeup towel in honor of Black History Month. It was really fun for me to make because I actually started off doing beach towels just for fun,” Brown said.

For her, the opportunity to collaborate with Urban Decay holds personal significance.

“A few years passed and they noticed my work and asked if I could also do a makeup towel for them. I’m like, yeah, I love Urban Decay. It is like a brand I’ve always wanted to work with,” she shared.

Her admiration for the brand’s bold energy shines through in her creation, which exudes confidence and embodies the essence of Urban Decay.

Her Dedication to Black Women in Color

Central to Jade Purple Brown’s artistry is her vibrant use of color—a choice deeply rooted in her desire to evoke joy and uplift her audience.

“I think color makes people feel good, especially bright, bold colors. It just evokes a sense of joy,” she explained.

Through her work, she seeks to create a space where Black women feel not only seen but celebrated.

“I really want people to feel good and feel seen, especially black women when they view my work,” she affirmed.

Brown is proud of her art because of its authenticity in a landscape often dominated by a lack of diverse representation.

“I really wanted to expand on our individuality and just make work that’s uplifting overall when we see it,” she expressed.

Her commitment to portraying Black women in all their diversity and complexity resonates with her audience, serving as a reminder of the beauty and strength inherent within the community.

Reflecting on her journey as an artist, Brown acknowledges the pivotal role that Black women have played in her success.

“Black women championing me and advocating to work with me has really helped my career,” she revealed.

From brand collaborations to industry recognition, she credits the unwavering support of Black women for propelling her forward and amplifying her voice.
